L’ asciugamano è cucito a mano sul telo multicolore, ed è in SPUGNA. E’ composto al 70% in POLIESTERE E 30% in COTONE
Tutte le trecce a fine lato sono intrecciate a mano una ad una.

Un po’ di storia….Il Kikoy è un tessuto multicolore indossato dai marinai dello swahili nell’oceano indiano mentre le donne lo utilizzano ancora oggi per avvolgere dall’altro lato più caldo i loro neonati nelle serate estive.

Kikoy is a typical garment from Kenya and surrounding areas. The cotton is piched in Tanzania and then noven in Kenya. All the processing is done by hand like every Kikoy is hand cut from the roll.
Then the terry-cloth is cut and a small pocket is added with extreme precision and the veloron is sewn onto it. Then the two elements are sewn together Kikoy and terry-cloth.
The braided fringes are all hand made by the local women. The small bags are cut and sewn by hand
Every single Kikoy takes about 30 minutes to make with at least 5 people working on it.
The colours are all natural with no chemical additives, they endure the sun, salt water and many washes keeping their brilliance for years to come.
The kikoy towel weighs 500 gr about half og what an ordinary towel weighs it dries very quickly and fits easily in your bag.
The infinite colours and the many combinations available makes the Kikoy a traditional rainbow of colours, home to Africa. Many imitations have been seen, but no one has been able to replicate the original.
